FSAE AUS 2007

The 2007 RMIT FSAE Racing team was lead by Mark Browne as Chief Engineer.  Continuing on with the successful platform set by the R06 challenger, the team kept the single cylinder Yamaha engine configuration, as well as a lightweight carbon fiber monoque chassis fully built in-house.  Like previous times, much of the emphasis was placed on developing what was already a very successful FSAE package.

Given the success of R06, RMIT Racing travelled to FSAE-A in December with high expectations; which while not quite achieved, were incredibly close in a hard fought battle with The University of Western Australia.  In spite of not ending the Sunday in first place, RMIT Racing was proud to take home its inaugural Design event win in any FSAE competition to date.

RMIT Racing also continued its dominance of the Endurance and Fuel Economy events, taking first place and ending the weekend on a positive note.  R07 and RMIT Racing now head to Detroit in 2008 to compete at the Formula-Student event, and hopefully regain the top step of the podium.
